Runner's Knee causes pain in the knee and is caused by a wearing away of the back of knee cap. It can be caused by a couple of factors including decreased strength in the middle quadricep muscles and shoes that do not give proper support.
Runner's knee can be treated and prevented by wearing a special knee brace, specially designed running shoes, and practicing strengthening exercises directed at the middle quad muscle. Talk to a doctor about runner's knee prevention and treatment. He may recommend physical therapy and special stretches to help heal and prevent the condition.
